1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Entries and Exits<\/span><\/h4>\n

As an employer, it\u2019s important to ensure your employees have safe entries and exits to the building. Salting the sidewalks at appropriate times helps guarantee no one gets hurt is an important winter tip to follow.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lighting<\/span><\/h4>\n

Adequate lighting should be provided in the parking lot and around the building with shorter days approaching. People feel safe walking to and from their cars.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mats<\/span><\/h4>\n

There should be suitable mats for soaking up water and ice before entering the building. Having mats placed in doorways help guarantee no one will slip on their way in\u2014or track mud, leaving the entrance of the building looking messy.<\/p>\n

If allowed, bring a small heater to keep your area warm without disturbing those around you. It can be hard to warm back up when coming back in from the frigid cold. A heater would allow a small boost of warm air to get you toasty and ready to get back to work.<\/p>\n
